STORE POLICY, TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Backyard Details does not ship C.O.D.
ACCEPTED METHODS OF PAYMENT:
We accept Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We accept electronic checks (see below), we do not accept personal checks.
CREDIT / DEBIT CARDS:
Backyard Details forbids using the credit card of another party for order fulfillment purposes. The name on the credit or Debit card must match the name of the purchaser and the address must match the billing address of your credit card. If this information is not the same please note that Backyard Details will need to contact the card issuer /Bank prior to completing the sales transaction and may require security code or other means of identification to process. This is to help protect all of us against fraudulent usage. For payments made via credit card, Backyard Details charges its customers immediately once an order is placed.
Checks:
Backyard Details does not accept personal checks. We accept electronic checks through PayPal or Money Orders/Cashier's Checks. We strongly encourage sending Money Orders or Cashiers Checks. All orders must be pre-paid before shipping. We do not offer any credit terms.
Money Order & Check Purchases:
Backyard Details can only hold orders pending MO/Check payment for a period of 10 days. We will make at least one (1) attempt to contact you in regards to payment. If we do not receive payment within ten days and you order is canceled you will be charged a 20% restocking fee. Customers who in effect cancel their order by not sending payment will not be able to order until we receive payment to offset the cancellation charges.
SHIPPING (for further information please see the shipping section)
SHIPPING TIME. The time needed to ship merchandise will vary depending on the shipment's location and the particular time of year. Products ship within 1 - 3 business days. Customers should expect a 7-10 day delivery time.
SHIPPING METHODS. *FREE SHIPPING applies to the continental United States only (contiguous 48 States). Alaska and Hawaii must call for quote - please refer to our "Shipping" Section for more information. Merchandise will be shipped using Ground Service where possible. In addition, some items may be shipped directly from the manufacturer to customers.
GUARANTEE:
We guarantee our products 100% to be free of defects or damage. Backyard Details and our suppliers stand by the quality and craftsmanship of all available merchandise. We will work with our customers to the best of our ability regarding any merchandise returns and/or shipping concerns. Please note Backyard Details and/or our suppliers may occasionally request digital photos of allegedly damaged or defective product. If you the customer are not satisfied, complete a return request through our Backyard Details and follow the return policy as noted. Once we receive the claim we will suggest a solution. We do not refund the shipping and handling charge in the event of a refused item, however we will if the item is determined to be our responsibility. Backyard Details and our suppliers reserve the right to require this information only as needed.
All packages leave our warehouse in good condition. Our responsibility ceases upon delivery of our goods to the carrier. You must get a claim number from the carrier.
Backyard Details or our suppliers are not responsible for any loss or damage incurred due to misuse of product other than the for intended and prescribed purposes. Abusive wear and tear of products may not necessarily qualify a returned product for warranty coverage either.
WARRANTY:
Most merchandise, items are warranted by the manufacturer for a minimum of 1 year. Hand-signed sports memorabilia may not be returned after 30 days under any circumstances.
Backyard Details makes no warranties, expressed or implied, as to the suitability of any certain product for use in secondary products or the actual results of its use in any such products. Backyard Details expressly disclaims any and all liability resulting from the use of these product in any secondary products produced thereby. It is common in our industry for occasional variances to occur in some products (such as color, grain, etc.) depending on manufacturer.
Backyard Details and our suppliers stand by the quality and craftsmanship of all available merchandise. DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
Damaged shipments from handling must be claimed with the freight carrier. If any cartons are missing or damaged, be sure to note this on the freight bill. If you notice concealed damage after the driver has left, keep all the packing and call the freight carrier to return and inspect the damage and file a claim. a report must be filed within 24 hours with the freight courier. BackyardDetails is not responsible for damage caused by the freight carrier.
Merchandise that is delivered via "Freight" MUST be inspected for any damages immediately upon delivery and prior to releasing Freight courier. If you accept the damaged package from the courier you may be responsible for the return shipping cost . NO EXCEPTIONS.
MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS
If a product appears to have a manufacture's defect, email our Customer Service department for instructions. Do not return products to us without first contacting us to receive instructions. If an item is to be returned to us due to manufactures defect, you must first receive a Return Authorization Number (RMA). No packages will be accepted without a Return Authorization Number written clearly on the package.
CLAIMS FILED WITHIN 24 HOURS:
Defective/Damaged Product Claims:
ALL Items returned for damage or defect claims will be undergo inspection by Backyard Details and/or supplier(s) and to determine whether the order was either mis-shipped or product was defective. If the item is deemed defective outside the normal product quality then we will gladly replace or refund the item. if the order is determined to have been correctly shipped and returned product is deemed non-defective, Backyard Details' customer is responsible for original return shipping costs and any additional shipping costs required to re-ship said merchandise to the customer. All return shipping costs must be originally incurred by the customer, with financial reimbursement by Backyard Details or Backyard Details' supplier if merchandise is found to be defective. Backyard Details must be informed of all damaged, missing, or mistakenly shipped products within 1 business day of package delivery. Further specific instructions will be given within 1-3 business days after contacting Backyard Details.
If non-defective merchandise is received by Backyard Details (or Backyard Details' supplier) and does not qualify for replacement, Backyard Details' customer is fully responsible for all shipping transit costs. Backyard Details reserves the right to take ownership of said non-defective merchandise if Backyard Details customer does not reimburse return shipping costs and outbound re-ship fees within 60 days. Backyard Details will not offer financial reimbursement for returned non-defective products.
CLAIMS FILED AFTER 48 HOURS:
All return merchandise claims filed after 48 hours of original delivery date are strictly defined as a manufacturer warranty issue. The Customer is fully responsible for return shipping costs, regardless of whether merchandise is found to be defective. Abusive wear and tear of products may not necessarily qualify a returned product for warranty coverage. If merchandise is found to be defective, Backyard Details will be responsible for replacement product shipping costs. Certain merchandise may not qualify for return claim authorization after 30 days of delivery receipt (see above).
CANCELLATIONS:
PLEASE NOTE, All orders are processed by Backyard Details as soon as they are received. Please double check to ensure your order is complete. Once an order is placed, it cannot be changed or canceled. Special Circumstance: If we do receive a request for a change and it is approved, it may delay your order and you will incur a $5.00 service charge. Backyard Details will accept canceled orders up to one (1) hour after you have placed your order with no fee associated. If an order is canceled after one (1) hour of placing your order you will be charged $10.00 or a 20% restocking fee (whichever is greater). Exceptions to this policy include cancellation requests related to unexpected and unreasonable shipping delays. *Special circumstances are at the sole discretion of Backyard Details and will be individually analyzed. Once a shipment has been executed refunds cannot be made without further approval. Shipping and all other associated costs are non-refundable.
RETURN MERCHANDISE POLICY:
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL REJECTED/REFUSED MERCHANDISE QUALIFY FOR A RETURN CLAIM UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY BACKYARD DETAILS. That is, unless an item is damaged or defective, any unauthorized returns will not necessarily be re-stocked and/or refunded. Please note that payment refunds occur only when similar merchandise is not available for replacement.
Should you wish to return an item to our inventory for any reason other than defective or damaged there will be a 20% restocking fee and will only be accepted within 7 days of receipt. In-store credit only, no cash refunds are given unless shipment was our error. No refunds on shipping and handling fees.
DO NOT return items for any reason to Backyard Details without an assigned RMA number. All Returns must be approved by Backyard Details. Please contact Backyard Details for an RMA authorization number. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs and will be reimbursed if claim is approved and deemed to be the responsibility of Backyard Details or our suppliers. If the claim is denied and deemed not our responsibility, a 20% restocking fee will apply to all returns to cover any re-packaging costs, credit card fees and labor incurred. All returns must include a completed return form with the original invoice number and reason for return. Merchandise must be received in proper packaging and in good condition to be accepted.
RMA - Returned Merchandise Authorization
What is an RMA#?
An RMA number or "Returned Merchandise Number" is a number assigned for returns for tracking and recording purposes for any product returned to BackyardDetails.com.
Once a return is authorized by our return department you must:
- Return the item to the address given to you by our return department.
- Write the Return Authorization Number clearly on the box or package.
- Keep your shipping records for proof of shipment in the event of loss of returned merchandise.
Returns shipped via U.S. Postal Service (U.S.P.S.) or with a value of over $100.00 should be insured. We can not be held liable for return merchandise that does not reach our return department.
SIGNATURE REQUIRED DELIVERIES
For certain product lines, Backyard Details and our suppliers may require signature on delivery to minimize potential delivery fraud. If the receiving party waves the signature required for order delivery, Backyard Details and our suppliers take no financial responsibility for the "lost package liability". If a signature waiver is required, Backyard Details and our suppliers will need said statement in writing. It can also be stated within order comments for any specific transaction. Verbal notification will not be accepted. Please note that Backyard Details and our suppliers do not offer signature on delivery for shipments unless specified by our suppliers.
FURNITURE: Special instructions
The policy's for general merchandise apply to furniture with the following exceptions.
All of our products sold to the original owner are guaranteed for standard use. We offer a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, tampering, negligence, abuse, or normal wear.We also warrant that our products are free from defective materials and workmanship (which does not include any small cracks in the end grain of wooden furniture.Damage Claims: Same as above: Merchandise that is delivered via Freight MUST be inspected for any damages immediately and prior to releasing Freight courier and a complaint made. DO NOT accept product. NO EXCEPTIONS. Contact Backyard Details within 24 hours to report the damaged product.
Defects or other damage claims:
To file a claim for damages imposed by other delivery service (such as UPS, USPS, etc.), digital photos must be taken of damage and submitted upon request to Backyard Details and our suppliers. Digital photos are preferred so as not to lose processing time. Follow the same process as for defective product and contact Backyard Details within 24 hours of receipt of product. To file a claim for defective product: (please note that minor scratches, surface nicks, etc. incurred during transit are not considered "defects" by Manufacturer. All items are inspected and guaranteed to be defect free prior to shipment). Follow the process for contacting Backyard Details Obtain an RMA#. We do not have a standard return policy on damaged or defective furniture other than that stated above due to the obvious non-cost effectiveness of shipping, handling, and restocking charges. We will work with each customer on an individual basis to determine a resolution. We want you, our customer to be satisfied with your purchase. If within 30 days no resolution can be reached the manufacturer may choose to either replace the product, refund your money (excluding delivery and restocking charges*) or credit you for our other items.
Furniture may qualify for a refund only under special conditions and must be approved by the manufacturer. A 20% restocking fee applies and shipping and handling or any other associated fees paid will not be reimbursed unless deemed the manufacturers fault. Customer will be responsible for return shipment costs. Damage and defect claims must be submitted within 24 hours of receipt. (Some Defect may not be immediately detectable and therefore claims for defective furniture may be e submitted up to 7 days after receipt but no later than 7 days of receipt). Due to the non-cost effectiveness of returning furniture please DO NOT Return shipment without authorization. Shipment costs will not be reimbursed.
Failure to accept delivery, refuse or reject furniture will, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES QUALIFY FOR A RETURN CLAIM UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY BACKYARD If you are unsatisfied with your furniture for any other reason than defect or damage, We ask that you contact us within 7 days of receipt so that we may find a resolution. We want our customers to be satisfied and we want to make it right.
Availability/Stock/Back Orders
Backyard Details will make every attempt to keep all products in stock, but cannot always guarantee their availability. Out of stock items will not be back ordered. If any items are out of stock, we will make every attempt to contact you by e-mail or phone for instructions. At that time you will be given options of choosing alternate items or canceling those items. If we cannot contact you before the end of the next business day, your order will be shipped without those items and you will need to re-order the item(s) at a later date. We cannot be held responsible for any situation that may arise due to an item being out of stock.
BUSY SEASON
Our busy season usually runs from September through December. During this time, orders may take longer to process and ship. We cannot hold orders for out of stock items during busy season although if you contact us by email requesting we contact you as soon as an item is available (or if a product will no longer be available) Backyard Details will contact you as soon as possible. Be sure in this case that your email setup allows emails from Backyard Details.com and does not place our emails in your spam folder as we will only contact you by email, no phone calls except under special conditions. When or if an item becomes available we will not �hold� an item without pre-payment. This will be considered a "Special Order" and must be prearranged with Backyard Details, must be pre-paid, and cannot be canceled or returned.
